The North York Rangers have completed two transactions since they last played Sunday afternoon at the Herb vs. the Mississauga Chargers.

On Nov. 30, the club acquired forward Ethan Wiseman from the Georgetown Raiders in exchange for forward Kegan Blasby. This trade completes a deal that began Nov. 12 with the sending of goaltender Jacob Hutchings to the Raiders for goaltender Jett Alexander and forward Ross Krieger.

Wiseman, 19, has 57 points in 142 career Ontario Junior Hockey League regular and post-season contests, while racking up 201 penalty minutes. The former draft pick of the Ottawa 67’s of the Ontario Hockey League played two seasons for the Orangeville Flyers before joining Georgetown this past off-season. A native of Mississauga, Wiseman featured for his hometown Rebels of the Greater Toronto Hockey League in minor hockey, moving on to junior for the 2014-15 season.

Blasby, 20, played in 90 games of the last two campaigns for the Rangers, proving himself a dominant power forward at the Junior ‘A’ level by scoring 37 goals and 90 points over that span. His varied junior career, which began after he was drafted in the sixth round by the OHL’s Kitchener Rangers in 2012 out of the Markham Waxers minor midgets, includes stops in Junior ‘B’ with the Kitchener Dutchmen, games with their parent Rangers, and in the German U20 league with Starbulls Rosenheim.

Blasby also represented the North York Rangers at the Eastern Canada Cup this past November in Cornwall, Ont., featuring for Team OJHL Hawerchuk.

In a move the next day, the Rangers acquired forward Noah Robinson from the Milton Icehawks in exchange for forward Jonathan Giordano.

Robinson, 19, has 30 points in 78 career OJHL games, split between the Aurora Tigers, Toronto Patriots and the Icehawks. A native of Mississauga, Robinson was a sixth round pick of the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL in 2013 out of the Toronto Marlies minor midgets, where he played with current Ranger Ryan Hunt.

Giordano, 19, featured in 16 contests for the Rangers this season, posting four points in that span. An alumnus of the Burlington Eagles minor midgets, the Burlington native had stops in Junior ‘B’ with St. Catherines and Cambridge before arriving in the OJHL this campaign.

New Rangers Wiseman and Robinson are both expected to be available for selection by Coach Geoff Schomogyi Friday night when the club travels to St. Mike’s Arena to battle the Buzzers.
