North York Rangers’ defenceman Alex Leader has committed to play for the Ryerson Rams of Canadian Interuniversity Sport for the up-coming season, the club announced Monday.
Leader, 21, scored eight goals and 28 points in 61 regular and post-season contests for the Rangers this past campaign.
The Aurora native was acquired in the off-season prior from the Trenton Golden Hawks, and had also spent time with the Orangeville Flyers and Markham Waxers over his 191-game Ontario Junior Hockey League career.
A 6-foot, 185-pounder, Leader uses his tremendous skating ability and intelligence to be effective in all three zones of the ice.
